My Lord, My Lady

I went to my very first Renaissance Fair today and to be honest - a totally confusing event. I am not sure if I liked it or not.. hahaha but really - very strange....

I was warned about the event - that it was H to O to M to the O but lots of pushed out boobs but not all good. I got all of that within 10 minutes of being there. Guys playing the part so seriously that you really wanted to kick their ass, seriously - where the hell do they get these guys. I think this is the only time they come out of their mom's basement - boobage everywhere (YEAH!!!) - then some 60 year old lady with huge floppies down to her waist - no bra and low cut top (insert a little throw up here)

I also thought/saw the following:

  1. I think half of those people are swingers
  2. I love the sale of beer at all hours
  3. Although few - some seriously hot chicks in full gear there
  4. For once, I felt like a handsome chap - what an ugg-fest
  5. Some of the shows were OK
  6. I don't get the majority of Renaissance humor (I'll take that as a positive)
  7. Saw the lead singer of RATT (but about a foot smaller - cracked me up)
  8. Saw Xena (also about a foot smaller - imagine that)
  9. Saw a midget chick in full gear - really loses it's affect
  10. This must be the Superbowl for the super-geeky high school kids into theater
After 3 days of this, do you think these people have a difficult time turning off the "fair speak"? Come Monday morning they say - "where be thy conference room?" or when someone takes a crap, there is the response "Well crapped my lord"!! I'm just sayin.

All in all - not a bad day - girls had a great day - spent way to much of my money for sure.

Mama - it's ON!!! AVMAN is mine!!!

Sansa song of the Blog: Going deep into the archives. "The Cloud Song" by Rudimentary Peni. Do yourself a favor - find some tunes by them - great old punk band.

A Black Cloud gathers and smothers my Brain
As I cry another tear in this struggle of Pain
Another hurdle to clear is it all the same
Is the conquest of pain my only Aim?

The Pain has got to Stop, it's eating into me,
My apathy upholds this misery,
this hatred for myself will Destroy me
If I don't start to give it the love it needs

Have you ever realised you must love Yourself
if you don't how can you love anybody else?
Nobody can reach you through your personal hell
You'll just eat yourself away in your tortured shell.

The old with the new

Sorry I've been away for a bit but between work and home, gets difficult sometime. Anyways, I had a decent weekend. It's nice that the rain gives you an excuse to sit on you ass somedays. I always feel guilty if it is nice out and I sit on my butt. Watched "Night at the Museum" with the family on Friday night and you know what - decent movie and much better than a lot of the crap they put out. Kids loved it!

Finally got myself on a bike ride saturday afternoon (after I did a lot of house cleaning so I earned it!) and decided to explore and man... did I hit a lot of hills. I paid the price on sunday, my legs were killing me but it was nice to get a ride in and found the neighborhood I would love to live in if I had a million or so dollars.

Saturday I went to see my friends band play: Anti-Chrysler. (you do the play on words) They, like me, have gotten older an busy. They have not played a show in over a year so happy for the chance to see them. I love it as it gives me and my long term friends a reason to get together. AVMAN joined us (that is the old with the new) and fit right in with my old friends which made for a very fun night.

Finally, got this in an e-mail and I think it is purty funnah!!

Peace Out!!

Random Stuff

Let's start with a song. I was cruising through new videos in Yahoo and came across a band called "Love equals Death". The song is called "Truth has Failed" and I like it. Cool lyrics too.

The truth means everything to a dying heart
Where were you when things fell apart?
Excuses you gave insulted me
Take a long hard look at the truth and you'll see

You're all that I need
If you call I will be there
You mean everything
If you fall I will be there
You made this heart bleed

The truth has failed

Promises made in the dark
It's a fools game of heart to heart
Memories will fade just like a fire
This passion burns for old desires

You're all that I need
If you call I will be there
You mean everything
If you fall I will be there
You made this heart bleed

The truth has failed

The truth means everything to a dying heart
Where were you when things fell apart?
Promises made in the dark
It's a fools game of heart to heart

There always stuff about Bushes verbal flubs and came across a few from "The Gore" that I also thought were funny.
  • A zebra does not change its spots
  • When my sister and I were growing up there was never any doubt in our minds that men and women were equal, if not more so.
Finally, I wish one newspaper would put this on the front page - it's what I think.

I've been busy with the ladies!!

When you have mad playa skills like myself you are sometimes swamped with ladies. I spent my 5 day weekend with them. Bike riding, museum, movie and them generally climbing all over me..

Sadly, they are not those kind of ladies. I had the wifey, my two girls and their friends. But hey, that first paragraph sounded freakin great didn't it.

Wed: Woke up late, went on a 5 mile bike ride with my daughters and two friends o the girls. Hey "Your Mom" - the 5 year old made the ride with no problems (well only 1 crash..) We hit the Golden Spoon on the way back. The Golden Spoon Granola kicks ass by the way. Other than that, chilled and played some Splinter Cell - Double Agent.

Thur: Woke up late, mowed the lawns, tried to go for a bike ride alone (so I can keep a good pace) First the pump broke so I went to Target and bought one. It was broke but had the valve connector I needed to use my compressor. Hit the trail - the way with the hills - I was going to man up.. get about 2 miles in and the river trail is closed.. sheeeet!! So I turn around - then the wind hits me with the fury of an old man trying to return soup at a deli. Then the headache hits.. I was done.Went home, chilled, took a nap then watched my shows - Thursday night rocks!!

Fri:The 10 year old had her friend spend the night so it was a long night of chicks being way to loud and blaring crappy Pat Benetar from the room. At least I know she is normal.. Got up and the whole famila went to the Natural History Museum. I really enjoy it there. The bad part: every freaking elementary school in LA was there and let me tell you - they are little bastards!! I will kill my kids if the acted like that. Another bummer was the dinosaur part was closed. Also, the 10 year old's friend can eat.. last time I pay!! (j/k)

The Friend, The 10 and the 5.

On the way home - hit up pops house - hung out and cranked parts of a puzzle with him.

Sat: Totally kick back day - went and saw Blades of Glory - freakin HI-LARIUOS!!! go see it!!! then I played some Splinter Cell - Double Agent then started my own 1000 piece puzzle - I got hooked.

Sun: woke up late - ran some errands, and did the puzzle. Everyone chipped in - the 5 year old even got a few pieces. I was way to obsessed with up - wifey and i finished it up about 9;30 Pm that night.

Every day the 5 year old decided to climb on me in some way - all day long. I am sure I will miss it someday....

It was a great extended weekend for sure.

Merry Easter

Hope everyone had a good easter. I know my girls always do. The Bro and Sis in law came down and stayed with us. We knew they were coming so had to get the house in shape - spent most Sat. morning cleaning up only to find out that they never told us what time they were coming - and so nice when they finally showed up after 8 pm.... grrrrrrrrr. Overall it was a nice easter.

Went Ice Skating on Friday evening. Neighbor kid had a b-day party - the girls were invited and of course I had to go and of course I had to skate. This is maybe my 5th time ice skating but it is cool (pun intended) It was my own personal Blades of Glory!

finally,

I was cracking up when I realized THE HERO looks like Andy Barker P.I..

Maybe all those ladies that love him so much are confusing him for a Hollywood star... It has to be!!!!

Sansa Song of the Blog: All the Same by Sick Puppies. Great song and great video. If you have not checked it out - please do.

The chicks may be hot.. but...

Freakin Sweden - I had no idea a country could deny someone the name they wish to name their child. That is bullshit government bureaucracy for ya.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Metallica may be a cool name for a heavy metal band, but a Swedish couple is struggling to convince officials it is also suitable for a baby girl.

Michael and Karolina Tomaro are locked in a court battle with Swedish authorities, which rejected their application to name their six-month-old child after the legendary rock band.

"It suits her," Karolina Tomaro, 27, said Tuesday of the name. "She's decisive and she knows what she wants."

Although little Metallica has already been baptized, the Swedish National Tax Board refused to register the name, saying it was associated with both the rock group and the word "metal."

Tomaro said the official handling the case also called the name "ugly."

The couple was backed by the County Administrative Court in Goteborg, which ruled on March 13 that there was no reason to block the name. It also noted that there already is a woman in Sweden with Metallica as a middle name.

The tax agency appealed to a higher court, frustrating the family's foreign travel plans.

"We've had to cancel trips and can't get anywhere because we can't get her a passport without an approved name," Tomaro said.

LARS IS TOTALLY GOING TO SUE!!!
